Permanent residence (Green Card)

US citizens, LPR's and US nationals can petition relatives and the intended immigrant is the beneficiary. Beneficiaries who are classified as immediate relatives are the spouses, parents and unmarried children of US citizens. As an immediate relative you can enter the US right away. All others fall within preference categories and must wait a certain number of years before they can enter.
