Asylum Seekers Fleeing Persecution

Granted to qualified applicants regardless of country of origin, who are unwilling or unable to return to their country of nationality because of past persecution or a well-founded fear of future persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group or political opinion.

Persons granted asylum can:
    • Remain in the U.S.
    • Petition to bring others family member.
    • May apply for lawful Permanent residence status after one year as an asylee.
